Many sites are hackable and malicious users don't sit on their butts - they're always looking for something more than they can exploit. A lot of web pages are vulnerable to cross-site scripting and CSS or XSS, whatever you like to call it, is pretty dangerous. Now, what can you do when you upload a site? Well, one good thing would be to see if it can be affected by CSS. And how do you do that? Well, the Acunetix has recently released the "Acunetix WVS - Free Edition" - this is a software that will scan your site for CSS vulnerabilities. It's free and it's great - it will sniff out any flaws that can be exploited, locate them and even indicate techniques to fix the problem.

I've been a web designer for a few years and I know how important security is for a site. What's the use of your web page having a great interface, being really easy to use and all that, if it can be vulnerable to hackers? Sure, some sites never get attacked because hackers have no interest in doing so. But not all attacks have a great purpose - some are done just as training - so why not protect yours?

You can download this program straight from the official website and trust me that if you are a good web designer, you will do everything to protect your work and your clients.

Exploiting CSS can have a great deal of ugly consequences and you know it! It can go from DoS (denial of service) attacks to identity theft. I don't know which one is worse, but I wouldn't want any to happen because I failed to check my site. Also, hackers could get access to restricted info or to content they would normally have to pay for. So, patch up your site's flaws and keep in mind that no matter how great a web page comes out, it doesn't matter if it gets hacked!
