Although Steve Jobs still has an unusually thin appearance, the Apple CEO has been putting in many hours of work since his return from a six-month medical leave. Particularly, since the beginning of 2010, Jobs has been seen more frequently, including at his company's campus cafeteria, an anonymous employee told BusinessWeek.

Although Steve Jobs formally returned to work last year, following a liver transplant, his presence on the Cupertino campus has been greater since the start of 2010, the report emphasizes. Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak is quoted as saying that he speaks to Jobs periodically, and that Apple’s boss suggests all is well with his life as a CEO, including his health. “Every time I hear him, he's doing a lot of work and a lot of thinking that's involved in that work, and those things sort of go away if you're very worried about your health,” Wozniak tells BusinessWeek.

According to the paper, Jobs still instills confidence among investors. “as Apple closes in on Microsoft Corp. as the most valuable U.S. technology company and embarks on a battle with Google Inc. in mobile advertising,” the report reads. Tim Bajarin, who has reportedly followed Apple for more than two decades as founder of technology consulting firm Creative Strategies in Campbell, California, says, “Except for the fact that he’s lost a lot of weight, he’s the Steve Jobs of old.” “At the visionary level, technology and design level, he seems to be working at the same level as he was before he was sick. If I was an investor, I’d be thrilled.”

Steve Jobs is set to appear at the Wall Street Journal’s annual All Things D event, where he will provide insight into the company’s future plans, and perhaps even demonstrate one or two things, like he did in 2003 and 2004, when he also featured an appearance at the tech-focused event. Here’s to hoping he’s put on a couple more pounds since the iPhone OS 4 event.
