Last time Microsoft's Chief Executive Officer embarked on a European tour, he managed to find a raw egg omelette a tad hard to swallow, as he was egged in Budapest, Hungary on May 19, 2008, during his keynote address at the Entrepreneurship Forum at Corvinus University. But the Hungarian egg incident has not ruined Steve Ballmer's taste for European tours. In fact, starting on September 29 and ending on October 3, Ballmer will tour Denmark, the UK, Norway, France, and Portugal.

“Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer will travel throughout EMEA this week. The goal of his trip is to continue the ongoing dialogue with customers, partners, government leaders, media and local employees about the potential of technology, the company’s business strategy and Microsoft’s Citizenship commitments. During this time, he will provide details on Microsoft’s S+S strategies, and will discuss the importance of continued investment in EMEA to drive greater opportunity through technology,” Microsoft revealed.

The tour debuts on Monday, September 29, in Copenhagen. There, Ballmer is scheduled to deliver an insight on the Redmond giant's virtualization strategy during a meeting with no less than 600 ICT professionals. On 30 September, the Microsoft CEO will “entertain” 1,000 ICT professionals and developers via an MSDN and TechNet Live session in Oslo, Norway.

The London Partner Summit on October 1 will feature Steve Ballmer discussing Microsoft's strategy for Software plus Services to an audience of 325 executives and Gold Certified Partners. Also in London, Ballmer plans to bring into focus the evolution of the company's server platform to no less than 700 ICT managers and professionals. Next on the agenda is the Microsoft Online Marketing Summit, on October 2nd, where Ballmer is scheduled to discuss the Redmond giant's vision of a connected lifestyle.

“Steve Ballmer wraps up his EMEA tour at the ‘Technological Portugal’ event in Lisbon, where he’ll speak before an audience of business owners, government leaders and policy makers. His keynote will focus on the continued need for public/private partnership and how technology can foster social and economic development at all levels of society,” Microsoft added.
