Loving Microsoft

Steve Ballmer has never been afraid to go overboard when it comes down to demonstrating his love for Microsoft, the company's products or the ecosystem built around those products. But, while a pseudo-retired Bill Gates continues to be synonymous with the Microsoft brand, a little room for the company's Chief Executive Officer has also been made in the latest $300 million advertising campaign put together by Crispin Porter + Bogusky. However, Ballmer is nowhere near the center stage of the Windows – Life without Walls effort, but is reduced to a cameo among the I'm a PC crowd.

Ballmer's effervescence is not something new. The Microsoft CEO has had extremely strong on-stage reactions, and the latest “I'm a PC” war cry performance is a clear indication of why he got stuck with the Monkey Boy nickname. Well, somewhere between I'm a PC and his commitment to Windows, Ballmer is featured on the Life without Walls section dedicated to over 1 billion PC users worldwide. “I'm a PC and I love this company,” Ballmer screams at the top of his lungs in a seven-second video that you will find embedded at the bottom of this article.

Also embedded, you will be able to see additional performances by Steve Ballmer, this time on-stage and on-camera. Microsoft's CEO has little problems with living up to his Monkey Boy alter ego whenever he manages to get out of PR mode. And, with his outbreaks making the delight of viral video watchers everywhere, Ballmer shows no signs of stopping anytime soon.

Steve Ballmer was hired at Microsoft by Bill Gates himself back in 1980 and, taking into consideration his statements during the company’s recent annual employee meeting, he plans to stick around for quite some time more. Ballmer indicated that he would only retire from Microsoft when the Redmond giant would eclipse Google in terms of share on the search engine market.
