LittleBigPlanet was one of the biggest and most hyped up titles at the end of last year, largely due to Sony, which wanted everyone to know about the puzzle platformer that allowed players to create their own levels and experience the joys of designing and sharing them with others over the PlayStation Network.

But one of the more subtle notes of the game was the narrator, who was voiced by British comedian Stephen Fry, known for his work in comedy sketches that also featured Hugh Laurie. He teased all of his Twitter followers yesterday when he revealed that he was “in studio today voicing 2nd edition of a video game. Will check when I'm there if I'm allowed to say what it is.”

This small statement generated a lot of buzz on the Internet about what Fry was working on, but before the speculations grew wilder and wilder, he announced that it was in fact the PlayStation Portable version of Media Molecule's LittleBigPlanet. “I've come to the end of a lush voice-athon and yes, am empowered to confess that it was for a new PSP version of Little Big Planet.”

It's really nice to see that the development team is working hard on the handheld version of the small puzzler and is trying to deliver a detailed experience, just like the one currently found on the PlayStation 3 platform.

While the future game doesn't have a concrete release date, it will appear sometime around the holiday season, just in time to push even more PSP devices out of the store shelves and into the hands of customers. The game is part of a new strategy developed by Sony, which aims at making the PSP even more popular, alongside other titles such as MotorStorm: Arctic Edge or Rock Band Unplugged, all developed for the Japanese device.
