There are headphones, there are headsets, and then there are things like the Siberia v2 Illuminated Gaming Headset Dota 2 Special Edition, which takes the idea of a piece of gaming headgear and pushes it to the extreme.

The press shots of this product don't really do it justice, because not only is the Siberia v2 customized for that very popular, Warcraft III-based multiplayer game, but it has LED lights on both earcups too.

What's more, buying the headset unlocks an item in the game, Scythe of Vyse for Nature's Prophet.

The lights on the earcups are bright red LEDs, and there are six different mods, to correspond with specific game profiles: Active Mode, Slow Pulse, Fast Pulse, High Bright, Low Bright and Off.

Active Mode pulses according to sound effects, for example.

Needless to say, the newcomer has active noise cancellation on the microphone, whose processor prioritizes the sounds closest to the microphone.

As for the in-line volume and mute controls, they are found on a durable cord with a USB connector.

SteelSeries' Siberia v2 Illuminated Gaming Headset Dota 2 should already be up for sale at $119.99 / €119.99.
