Advanced Device Locks, developed by WebGate, is a Symbian-compatible application that is intended to protect important information and personal data stored on a mobile phone. Once the software is installed and proper settings are made, you can be sure that your info will not be accessible even if your handset is stolen or lost.

There are some areas that you can put some restrictions such as Messages, Video, Pictures, Contacts, to prevent them from being accessed by other persons against your will. Basically, the application enables you to lock the phone automatically, by using one of the settings that you previously made.

There are 4 options with different levels of security: Always – each time the phone is turned on, it asks for the unlock code; When SIM Changed – the locks are on if the SIM card on the phone is changed; Automatic lock – an automatic lock is switched on after a specified period of inactivity in minutes; Protect applications – this option turns on the device locks if someone tries to access the protected applications. The software also provides improved protection against malicious uninstall attempts.

There's also the possibility to combine two of these features by locking the phone and all the applications installed on it. It is imperative that you change the default lock code (0000) for security reasons. This can be made from the Code menu and it only takes a second. The interface of the application is user-friendly and provides a nice experience to the customer. Sadly, Advanced Device Locks is only compatible with S60 and S60 touchscreen phones.
Advanced Device Locks can be bought for 15.50 USD, but possible customers can install the trial version and use it for 7 days. After expiration an activation key is needed to unlock the full version of the software.
