Two exciting new things will make the day of State of Decay fans. It seems that the “Run away” hit can now celebrate as it has reached sales of one million units across Xbox Live Arcade as well as Early Steam Access. The second good news is that “Breakdown” DLC is planned for late October.

The developers are proud to state that the game reached the half-million sales mark incredibly fast, within merely weeks of its launch on XBLA, June 5.

As a prize for this major accomplishment, the developers have announced that they will offer State of Decay: Breakdown to five random people.

They will be the lucky ones who will get a free copy of this awaited pack and other ten will have the chance to win some Undead swag.

Breakdown represents the name of the pack and has been recently delivered to Microsoft for pre-certification testing. Therefore, the project is complete, the only thing left is to deal with the remaining bugs and to make final adjustments to tuning and balance.

If things go according to plan, gamers will finally get to experience the first zombie survival simulator of the extremely popular title. The Undead Labs devs are confident, the founder Jeff Strain stating on the company's blog, “Assuming no catastrophes, we plan on getting Breakdown into your hands by the end of October.”

This pack will allow gamers the chance to test their skills. As they will make their way through the game, the scenario reaches a new level of difficulty.

Among the features meant to make the scenario tougher, gamers will find Vulnerability, Attrition, Speed, Freaks, Resources and Transportation.

Each zombie attack you receive produces a higher damage than before, making you more attentive and more aware of the fact that you need to stay as far away as possible from their clutches.

One advantage that zombies have and you do not is their tirelessness. As the game gets tougher, bringing down a zombie gets even harder than usual.

When it comes to the speed factor, you can outrun them if you first kill the fast ones, but they are in a ridiculous number.

Unfortunately, this time you will not have as many cars as you did in State of Decay, making it harder to escape. Also, the pack features an updated resource system that will have limits to it.

It’s quite a challenge to all State of Decay fans.
