A new point-and-click adventure game is up on Kickstarter; entitled Stasis, it is played from “a unique isometric view point set in a science fiction universe in 2D.” The game needs to raise $100,000 / €74,000 until December 7.

The story is set in a distant future somewhere on an isolated spacecraft, where players must take on the role of John Maracheck to interact and solve puzzles in order to save his family. Along the way, players will get to uncover some horrible experiments.

The developers have created Stasis by following the game-play mechanics of some classic games such as The dig, Space Quest, Kings Quest and others.

Moreover, the game incorporates a unique visual aspect that can be seen in the critically acclaimed psychological horror Sanitarium.

Adventure fans should know that several chapters of this new title have already been fully completed; therefore, they can try out the Alpha version and check out things for themselves.

The devs have as goal “to reinvigorate the mature isometric adventure gaming genre by combining an exciting sci-fi, horror story and awesome graphics with classic game-play.”

As core features, Stasis incorporates expansive areas to explore, with puzzles that span multiple rooms and entire floors of the Groomlake, highly detailed rendered 2D isometric graphics, a compelling sci-fi story set in a rich futuristic world as well as multiple isometric zoom levels in different areas.

In addition to this, there is quite a variety of environments, starting from re-purposed warehousing facilities, to sterile medical suites and overgrown hydroponic bays and many more.

Also, the game features mature content for “mature gamers” as well as full motion video cut scenes.

To further improve the game, developers hope to include a beautiful orchestral soundtrack, more professional voice actors and more in-game video cut scenes, all with your help.

If the developing crew manages to raise more than the intended amount, they will polish the game even more in order to offer players the best possible gameplay experience.

Also, if you are interested in the game, pledge your support on Kickstarter as well as help Stasis receive Steam Greenlight.
