This is not an April fool's prank

Have you ever thought how many GB do you need to store all your emails? If you haven?t, it?s no use to do it now because, starting from today, Google has decided to throw in a few more MB.

This came as a response to Yahoo?s last move to increase the capacity of the email accounts with 750 MB. Yahoo reached 1 GB and, in return, Google raised the stakes with 1 GB more, totalizing 2 GB of available information.

Google also launches the Infinity+ storing plan which means more MB every day. (This was Google?s last joke)

Google doesn?t only increase the storing space, but has also included a text editor which allows users to write colored messages with HTML formatting, until now the only available format being the black and white format.

Increasing the storage space is clearly a marketing maneuver because only a small percentage of users have reached the 1 GB limit.

This announcement celebrates 1 year since Gmail?s launching. One can only wonder if Google will make another 2 GB gift when it turns 2 years old or by then the email accounts will have at least 3 GB of space?

The race ?as many GB per user? will eventually stop. And just think that a few years ago PCs had only hard-disks of 2 GB...
