14 DAY TRIAL // The SAG (Screen Actors Guild) Awards 2009 took place over the weekend and, as usual, all the ladies and their stylists did their best to make their few minutes on the red carpet truly memorable. From Angelina Jolie to the much younger but equally stylish Anne Hathaway, all women waltzed by the cameras of the photographers, parading in their specifically designed gowns and multi-million jewelry.
Speaking of which, all fashion-oriented publications seem to have reached the conclusion that Angelina Jolie, Eva Longoria and, quite surprisingly, Evan Rachel Wood were definitely among the best dressed and most elegant women of the evening. On this note, while Angelina and Evan opted for different shades of blue, Eva kept true to her own style in a tangerine flowing number that reminded the audiences of princess stories.
Angelina Jolie, for one, donned a blue Max Azria dress, Tiffany & Co jewels and Christian Louboutin shoes, according to gossip / fashion site JustJared. With a low-cut back that put her tattoos on display, the gown was simple to the point of severe in front, but it more than made up for it with a long trail and the delicacy of the fabric. Brad, as always, was dressed in a Tom Ford suit that he also kept very simple by doing away with the usual black tie.
Eva Longoria is usually like a ray of sunshine whenever she steps on the red carpet, and this time was no exception either. Clad in a tangerine Jenny Packham dress with a jeweled neckline and H. Stern diamonds, the petite actress completed the ensemble with a shiny Ted Rossi champagne python puffy clutch. With her hair lifted up and the color of the gown in perfect harmony with her skin tone, useless to say, Eva managed to make all eyes turn on her the minute she took to the red carpet.
Evan Rachel Wood also managed to shine at this year’s ceremony, somehow despite the fact that, until not long ago, she was a persona non-grata in Hollywood – or at least with certain fans. After ditching the Dita von Teese-inspired look that she embraced while dating shock rocker Marilyn Manson, Evan showed at this ceremony that she could pull a classy outfit just like, if not actually better, than consecrated stars.
Dressed in ark teal Monique Lhuillier one-shoulder gown, the actress happily posed for pictures while being the very image of class and elegance. Strappy purple Sergio Rossi shoes and a matching clutch completed her look, while she chose to wear her hair in the most natural of forms, which gave her a look of sophistication that an updo would have probably not managed to.
