And the additional units for the Terran, Zerg and Protoss seem to be the reason

As soon as Starcraft 2 was announced - trailer, gameplay footage and all, people started talking. Is it going to be different in a good way? Is it going to be at least as compelling as the previous title and are gamers going to have the same fun online playing it with its new additions? The same question arose over at PC.IGN and although they make some relevant observations, the questions still remain unanswered:

Charles: "I'm more concerned about how stressed I'm going to get while playing this game online. Supreme Commander made me physically tired after an online match. StarCraft II will be more intense, I think, in terms of requiring uninterrupted focus while playing. This will only get worse with the additional units about abilities Blizzard eventually announces for the Terran, Zerg, and Protoss. So far, the Protoss' ability to teleport units anywhere within a phase field, as well as move around the fields with the Phase Prism unit, means a surprise could happen at any minute if you're playing against them. By surprise, I mean their entire army suddenly warps into the front of your base."

Yes, everyone can agree that Starcraft was a focus-demanding game and with the new additions mentioned by Blizzard (for the Terran, Zerg and Protoss) it will probably become confusing, needing everything in great numbers. Charles continued:

"Concurrently, the player might move in one or two Colossus units to step into the back of the base, the blink in a group of Stalkers right behind and gut the base from both sides. How are you supposed to defend against that? Build 800 bunkers? Blizzard effectively eliminated the ability to create choke points in your base, so I'm very curious to see if base defenses are going to be worthwhile, especially considering the need to protect resource deposits. Also, siege tanks apparently now suck since ledges aren't a problem anymore. Take that you Terran jerks."

OK, good point, but I'm sure Blizzard thought of everything. And besides, you can't make a 100% accurate impression just by watching that gameplay footage connecting it to what Blizzard has announced in terms of features. Oh well, guess we'll have to wait for the hands-on experience to know if these predictions are indeed correct.
