In addition to connecting peripherals to PCs, the universal serial bus is most often used for transferring data to and from a storage or mobile device, or from a PC, but they are used to recharge things quite often as well.
That is why StarTech has launched the 7-Port USB Charging Station (ST7CU35122), and the USB 3.0 Hub (ST4300U3C3).
Both of them are meant to replenish the energy of your mobile phones, tablets, music players, portable media players, etc.
The USB 3.0 Hub has three dedicated USB charge ports (two 1-amp and one 2-amp ports), as well as four standard USB 3.0 connectors that allow you to connect extra peripherals to your laptop or whatever else.
USB Battery Charging specification 1.2 (including Apple and Samsung Galaxy devices) is implemented. Furthermore, the hub has a compact metal case and can be carried around, or mounted on a wall.
The Charging Station only has power ports though, so no data transfer here. It boasts five 1-amp and two 2-amp charge ports, to be specific. It, too, is portable, but apparently not mountable on a wall.
The price of the StarTech 7-Port Dedicated USB Charging Station is £49.99 / $82.56 / €59.88. The 4-Port Powered USB 3.0 Hub w/ Dedicated USB Charging Ports is more expensive, at £61.99 / $102.38 / €74.29.
