New information might arrive soon

Blizzard is one of the most popular video game developers out there, largely due to the attention it directs to its games, and to the great experiences that titles such as Diablo, StarCraft or World of Warcraft offer to players.

But although fans are extremely loyal to the company, the outsatndingly long and secretive development cycles are something that can wear a lot of people's nerves off. Such is the case with StarCraft II, the sequel to one of the most popular RTS (Real Time Strategy) titles out there, launched in 1998 and still being played today, which has already suffered a lot of changes during its creation process.

After fans learned that the title would be split into three volumes, which were bound to be similar to World of Warcraft and its expansions, the feelings were pretty different. While some of them worried that the company would derive profit from the three games that were to be launched, instead of just one, others were happy because it meant that the title would be shipped faster.

Now, during a post on the game's official forum, Dustin Browder, the lead developer of the upcoming RTS, wanted to address some of the concerns of the enthusiastic gamers. Sadly, not a lot of things were unveiled, but an extremely interesting tidbit of information, regarding the whole development process, was slipped by Browder: “Sorry. We don't want to lie about the Beta, and we don't even want to lie about the next Battle Report. When we know a date (for anything) for certain, we'll let you know. Hang in there. We're in the final stretch.”

Hopefully, this final stretch will be a short one, but knowing Blizzard, the marathon that the development of StarCraft II represents won't reach an end for quite some time. Let's just wait and see what other details will arrive from Blizzard in the following weeks.
