In today's popular culture, there are quite a few franchises that have gained the status of iconic and which have a huge number of fans all around the world. One such series is Star Wars, a movie, TV series and even video game franchise that has turned a lot of people into loyal fans.

One of the next big projects regarding the series, owned by LucasArts, is BioWare's Star Wars: The Old Republic online role playing game, which the studio will release next year. The company guarantees to deliver an experience of an epic scale, even promising that every character players will interact with will be fully voiced.

This has led to a lot of awe from MMO fans, who realize that an average player interacts with a big number of NPCs (Non-Playable characters). Now, the director of audio and localization, Shauna Perry, is talking with fans through a developer diary, revealing that the amount of voice work done for The Old Republic is equal to about 10 new Knights of the Old Republic titles, a previous franchise from BioWare.

“As I said, The Old Republic is the size of at least 10 KOTORs recorded back to back. Basically, it takes a very large team all focused on the same outcome - producing the most VO assets ever produced at the highest quality possible. There are dedicated internal teams at both LucasArts and BioWare, and externally, there are also multiple studio audio engineers and post production teams. On any given day, there can be over a dozen people working specifically on The Old Republic voice-over and that doesn't include any actors!”

She goes on to say that there are hundreds of actors who are currently engaged in the project all around the world, from Los Angeles to London or Toronto. To put it into perspective, according to a recent statistic, the dialog in the game will surpass the entire run of the hit TV series The Sopranos.

So it seems that everyone who is interested in SW: The Old Republic will have a lot of dialog to look forward to. Are you eagerly anticipating this game or do you think that it won't be as great as it is hyped up to be?
