BioWare has talked a bit more about its Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO, this time saying that it has content already in development for it that won’t appear until 2013.

Star Wars: The Old Republic had a successful launch last month and, despite a few bugs and issues didn’t encounter any major problems.

Now, with the first big patch set to appear next week, in the form of update 1.1 ‘Rise of the Rakghouls’, game Director James Ohlen has talked with CVG about the future plans of the MMO. Throughout the talk, the executive highlighted that members of his team were already working on new content, even on things that might not appear until 2013.

“We have people working on content that won't be showing up in the game until 2013. We have writers already finishing off content for that, so I can already play through stuff from 2013 content - just not with voiceovers,” Ohlen said.

All of the new content will bear the same mark of quality as the things that are already a part of the game, including full fledged cinematics and high quality voiceovers, which even earned Star Wars: The Old Republic a Guinness World Record.

“We're planning really far ahead, and we have to do that because our content is more complex than your typical MMO content. It requires voiceovers, cinematics and all that,” he added.

Ohlen also talked about the bugs that were encountered by players, more specifically the dancing glitch that disrupted enemy attacks if the player’s character started to dance.

“That one definitely caught us off guard! Obviously it was a real bug, but at least it had the humor element so it didn't cause as much anger as some of the other bugs! It was kind of funny, and got quite a few online jokes and even some cartoons.”

Until this new content is released, Star Wars: The Old Republic is getting ready for the launch of its first major patch next week, on January 17.
