14 DAY TRIAL // Video game developer BioWare and publisher Electronic Arts are announcing that they are working on a major new expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic, called Knights of the Fallen Empire, which is designed to focus on the single-player aspect of the MMO.
At the moment, the two companies are saying that they are planning to introduce all the new content to the game on October 27.
Star Wars: The Old Republic - Knights of the Fallen Empire will be free for all those who are subscribing to the MMO and it is at the moment unclear how much it will cost for those who are playing the title without paying.
BioWare says that it is focusing on the story element of the MMO in the expansion because this is what the community has said that it wants to see.
A new major threat is coming to the galaxy and players, both the Jedi and the Sith, will have to work together in order to battle the enemy and drive it away.
As the name implies, the core narrative of Knights of the Fallen Empire is built around two brothers with very different destinies.
The development team also says that it wants gamers to make choices that will feel important both on a personal level and when it comes to the fate of the galaxy.
Star Wars: The Old Republic is getting more gameplay features
BioWare states, "Knights of the Fallen Empire includes the first nine chapters, fueled by BioWare-style cinematic storytelling, that kicks off a new player-driven story arc that puts you at the center of a conflict where your choices have impact on outcomes including unexpected twists and betrayal."
During the E3 2015 presentation, the company has also said that there are more companions for gamers to recruit and a lot of new equipment that they can use to customize their characters.
Star Wars: The Old Republic - Knight of the Fallen Empire will also revamp some areas of the game.
Players will get access to a level 60 character in the expansion so that they can quickly get into the new content and start exploring the unique story created by BioWare.
