14 DAY TRIAL // Sony Entertainment and Lucas Art announced today the debut of an enhanced trial for Star Wars Galaxies. The trial will include all the versions of Star Wars Galaxies released until now: An Empire Divided and Jump to Lightspeed.
Players have to set up a trial account that will be valid for 14 days. After this period of time expires, they will be able to convert their trial account into an active subscription. The trial version is about 650 MB in size and allows players to reach level 10 of the game. Players who do that will be able to download the second expansion Rage of the Wokiees for free along with an exclusive in-game item to be used by one of their characters.
According to Nancy MacIntyre, vice president of global sales and marketing for LucasArts, more content will be available in November as they plan to launch Star Wars Galaxies: The Complete Online Adventures. This compilation will include all the games' expansion up to date and behind the scenes content featured in a bonus DVD.
The Star Wars based MMORPG requires a monthly subscription fee in order to be accessed. The fee for U.S. players is US$ 14.99 but 3, 6 and 12 month plans are given discounts. SWG is also part of Sony Online Entertainment's "Station Access", which allows access to all SOE games for US$ 24.99 per month.
