The upcoming Star Wars Battlefront will apparently not be a carbon copy of Battlefield with a Star Wars theme slapped onto it, but instead will offer an experience to make fans proud.

Part of the developer DICE's effort to deliver a top-notch product is the intention to offer a fresh experience, an innovative shooter that feels completely unique.

In a recent interview with OXM, Executive Producer Patrick Bach revealed that the upcoming video game would not feature aiming down sights, a mechanic that can be found in pretty much every first-person shooter that strives to offer a more realistic user experience.

Players will be able to employ scopes when using some of the special rifles, but when shooting normal blasters, ironsights won't factor in, as GamesRadar reports.

Hip shooting was pretty big in George Lucas' original movie trilogy, which might be why those poor Stormtroopers weren't able to actually hit anything, and it seems that DICE is going for authenticity instead of familiarity.

Stormtroopers are elite enough without ironsights anyway

Aiming down a weapon's sights is a popular mechanic because it only takes a fraction of a second longer than just shooting your gun, but it confers a significant bonus to stability and accuracy, usually at the cost of mobility and visibility, narrowing your field of view.

Bach said that he was not able to further detail how the lack of the mechanic would affect accuracy and multiplayer battles.

He mentioned that simply picking up every mechanic in the Battlefield series and translating it to Battlefront would be disrespectful to the series' fans, and that instead, DICE wanted to offer them something completely unique.

Evidently, some features will closely resemble the ones encountered in other shooters, because they are an integral part of the genre, but the studio isn't merely trying to create Battlefield: Star Wars.

Star Wars Battlefront is expected out later this year in November, coming to the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms.
