Fans of George Lucas' science fiction universe of Star Wars certainly have a lot to look forward to this winter.

Star Wars Battlefront is shaping up to be a genuinely interesting title, coming from the makers of the Battlefield series, scheduled to land this November.

"Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens," the next episode in the "Star Wars" saga, is heading to theaters this December, with J. J. Abrams at the helm. It's going to be the first movie that George Lucas is not directly involved with, and the best thing about it is that it won't feature Jar Jar Binks.

DICE's reboot of Star Wars Battlefront will focus on infantry action, while also allowing users to pilot some of the iconic machinery of the series, including AT-STs and Speeder Bikes.

DICE Community Manager Mathew Everett revealed via Reddit that, in addition to the two previously unveiled vehicles, gamers will also be able to pilot Snowspeeders and even the Millennium Falcon. DICE had previously announced that gamers would be able to jump in the cockpit of X-Wings and TIE Fighters.

The vehicles will be "padawan friendly"

Everett also mentioned that they would be easier to control than the air vehicles found in the Battlefield series, so noobs need not worry. The aerial combat will be limited to the atmosphere of the planet the hostilities take place on, in order to put the focus on ground fighting.

While not having space battles is a bit of a bummer, the company's efforts to provide us with an authentic and enthralling Battlefront experience are commendable. At the same time, DICE is also trying to create something that's different enough from the standard Battlefield action so as not to make the game feel like just a reskin.

Star Wars Battlefront is scheduled for release on November 18, coming to the Windows PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.
