The development team at DICE and publisher Electronic Arts have already confirmed that the AT-ST walker will be playable in the coming Star Wars Battlefront, and the two companies are now willing to also offer a glimpse of the vehicle in action.

The powerful Empire-controlled unit can be seen moving through the lush forest on Endor, where some of the most interesting battles of the game will be set.

The planet is well-known from the Star Wars movie series, and DICE aims to offer areas that are both familiar and offer some surprises.

The AT-ST is suited to the Endor environment because it packs a lot of firepower and can be relatively nimble when it needs to be in order to escape from traps and get to enemies when they reveal themselves.

The Battlefront image comes from the official Reddit of the title, and one of the developers has confirmed that it was created using the game engine.

DICE has not offered a full list of the vehicles that gamers will be able to use, and some fans are concerned about the line-up of units that the Rebels will be able to use.

The studio has already confirmed it will not allow players to directly control the bigger AT-ATs, who will move along pre-determined paths in order to make sure that the balance of the levels is not perturbed.

Star Wars Battlefront will focus on the original movie trilogy

This year, fans of the Star Wars movie franchise will be able to watch the first installment of a new trilogy, which will be called The Force Awakens.

But the new Battlefront video game will focus on the first three films and the planets and battles that were either shown or mentioned there.

DICE has already shown the concepts for a new lava-filled planet, and more reveals are coming between now and E3 2015.

The new title will focus on teamplay and includes a new Hero system that will allow gamers to briefly play as very powerful characters, including Darth Vader and others.

Star Wars Battlefront will be offered on the PC, the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the Xbox One from Microsoft and launch will take place on November 17.
