The next game is coming to Star Wars Celebration

Electronic Arts confirms that it's going to organize the official gameplay presentation for its upcoming Star Wars Battlefront shooter at the Star Wars Celebration in April, ahead of other, bigger gaming events like E3 2015.

Electronic Arts made a big deal about its partnership with Disney to create new Star Wars games and rather quickly it confirmed that DICE, its internal studio that made the Battlefield series, was working on a Star Wars Battlefront shooter that would continue the legacy of the previously titles in the franchise that were made by Pandemic and LucasArts.

Soon after that, at E3 2014 last summer, many fans awaited at least a glimpse of gameplay or concept art, but EA and DICE only presented a short cinematic, showing the ice planet Hoth. At that time, the two companies mentioned that more about the game would be shared in spring of 2015, and we're finally in that season.

The first gameplay is coming next month

Now, after a bit of speculation, Electronic Arts and DICE confirm on the official website that they're going to share the first glimpse of the new Star Wars Battlefront title at the special Star Wars Celebration convention that takes place in Anaheim, California, between April 16 and April 19.

According to the two companies, the major event, which celebrates everything related to Star Wars, is the perfect occasion to share the new game, and while they could've waited until E3 2015 in June, it's much better to interact with the franchise's loyal fans.

"It seems like such a long time ago (at an E3 press conference far, far away) since we announced we were working on Star Wars Battlefront. We’re thrilled to share that Star Wars Battlefront will be taking part in Star Wars Celebration next month. We could not think of a better or more appropriate place to debut the game officially for the first time than the premier event that celebrates the Star Wars universe and the legions of fans who have fallen in love with it."

It's unclear what exactly will be portrayed at the convention, but you can bet that more footage or details will be shared afterwards, probably at E3 2015 or at Gamescom 2015.
