The development team at DICE and publisher EA are finally ready to deliver the long-awaited gameplay-focused trailer for Star Wars Battlefront, which is designed to give gamers a taste of the kind of experiences the title will offer when it arrives in the fall.

The footage is taken from a current version of the shooter running on a PlayStation 4 home console and shows both sides of the Battle of Hoth, with the Imperials trying to take out the Rebel base hiding on the planet.

There are five minutes of actual action taken from Star Wars Battlefront that allow gamers to get a clear picture of the kinds of mechanics the title will deliver.

As the Imperials, gamers will have to try and protect the AT-AT walkers who are moving towards the Rebel base, ready to deliver the firepower required to take it out.

The Rebels need to use all their tricks in order to take out the same pieces of hardware.

A lot of weapons and vehicles from the Star Wars universe are featured in the footage taken from the coming DICE shooter.

The video also confirms that Darth Vader will be the main hero for the Imperial side, which the community already knows, but the bigger reveal is that the Rebels can count on the presence of Luke Skywalker and his solid use of a lightsaber and the Force.

Star Wars Battlefront will feature a multitude of modes and planets

DICE has already said that it wants to introduce battles based on all the major moments that were shown or mentioned in the original movie trilogy, with careful reproduction of the environments and the various weapons and vehicles each side uses.

Star Wars Battlefront will be out on the PC, the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony on November 17 of this year.

Gamers will get a special piece of downloadable content called Battle of Jakku, based on The Force Awakens, which will be offered on December 1 for those who pre-order and later for the rest of the community for free.

Gamers can get access to a Deluxe Edition of the Star Wars Battlefront experience to gain access to some exclusive weapons, including the blaster that Han Solo uses in the movies.
