Celebrities are constantly in the spotlight, but rarely do any of us, regular people, get to make contact with them. One man, however, was about to have even more contact than he would have wanted with actor Sylvester Stallone, when he was about to be run over by his car as he was crossing the street, PageSix informs. Luckily, that did not happen, and Stallone reportedly acted very “gentlemanly” about the entire incident.

The possibly fatal crash was allegedly about to happen because both men, meaning Stallone and the unnamed preson crossing the street, were not focusing on what they should have been doing. Stallone, it is said, was on his cell phone while driving, while the man had his earphones on and the music so loud that he did not hear when the actor honked the horn at him as a warning signal.

“The car skidded into the crosswalk, stopping just short of my buddy, who dove to the ground,” PageSix writes, citing another man who was at the place of the near-accident. “When he looked up, he saw a guy wearing a shocked expression, in red leather bomber-type jacket, gripping the wheel with one hand as the other held his cell against his ear. Like the hot-headed New Yorker he is, my buddy started yelling, ‘Are you [expletive]ing kidding me?’ Then he realized it was Sly. He told me, ‘How was I gonna yell at Stallone? I mean, I love the guy since I was a kid. It’d be almost an honor to say Rocky knocked me out at a Beverly Hills crosswalk’.” the spy further explains.

The actor got out of the car to see if the man had been in any way hurt, but also to draw his attention that crossing the street while being deafened by music was not quite the best idea. The man, in his turn, reportedly pointed to Stallone that he too was not really playing by the rules, since he was on the phone when he almost hit him with his car. This is where the two started laughing at the situation, the source says for PageSix.

“Sly extended a hand, pulled my buddy up, and asked, ‘You all right?’ When my friend assured him he was, Sly offered, ‘You sure, you need a ride or anything? Can I give you a lift?’ My friend politely declined. They fist-bumped, then with a smile, Sly showed him he was sticking his cell in his jacket before jumping back into his VW.” the spy adds.
