Rihanna set the stage on fire – literally – over the weekend in Dallas. The incident occurred during her performance of “California King Bed,” as per reports, and led to show ending much earlier than anticipated, much to the disappointment of fans.

AceShowbiz says the fire was most likely started by a faulty light, but reports online suggest some pyrotechnics that went off at the wrong time may have also been to blame.

Either way, as the video here will confirm, while it wasn’t a very big fire, it did require a cautionary measure on part of the organizers, who chose to call off the entire gig.

“Fire broke out while Rihanna was entertaining her fans at Dallas’ American Airlines Center on Friday, July 8,” AceShowbiz writes.

“Concertgoers had to be evacuated from the venue when sparks of fire began flying down the stage due to, what appeared to be, busted lighting,” the report further says.

“Dallas Fire-Rescue firefighters came to the scene after receiving reports that the stage curtains and some of the set were on fire. However, the fire had been put out by the time they got there,” the e-zine writes.

There were no injuries, but police and firefighters would not comment on the possible cause of the fire.

Fans, though, were quite unhappy about the turn of events and immediately went to ask for their money back because they hadn’t been offered the show they were promised.

Perhaps learning of this, Rihanna took to Twitter to promise she will make it up to them in a future show, and to express her regret at having to cut her set short because of such an expected incident.

“DALLAS!!! We set the stage on FYAH tonight!!! LITERALLY!!! I’m so [upset], I was havin so much fun wit yall too!!! I gotta come back man!!” she first tweeted. The other dates in Rihanna’s Loud tour remain unchanged.
