Last month, we wrote about an unusual building project in which a two-story house was being built upside down in Shanghai, east China, as a tourist attraction. Now, a similar project has been unveiled in St Petersburg, Russia, where a museum presents House Upside Down – a bizarre apartment where everything is flipped on its head.
According to the Mirror, this unusual gravity-defying apartment includes a living room, kitchen, bathroom, a kids' bedroom and a corridor. All rooms are equipped with what you would normally find inside a regular house: sofa, tables, chairs, a TV, kitchen appliances and even potted plants.
What's special about this house is that everything is turned head over heels, so all furnishings are placed upside down and stuck to the ceiling.
The peculiar interior design makes upside-down photos look like visitors are defying gravity. As you can see in the gallery below, they seem like they touch the ceiling with their feet and walk in their hands. But actually, this is just an illusion created by the unusual laying of the furniture.
Luckily, no one has to actually live in this topsy-turvy environment. I, for one, would certainly get dizzy if I visited this atypical apartment.
