Google News introduces reader comments

Sometimes, it's very important to find out what other people are saying about a certain website to decide if it's worth it before you visit it. Google has the same opinion and decided to introduce comments for Google News, its famous solution that displays thousands of headlines on a single page. However, this new technology is somehow different from the one you know because Google News currently allows only the ones involved in the articles to post comments. "Comments will be published in full, without any edits, but marked as "comments" so readers know it's the individual's perspective, rather than part of a journalist's report," Dan Meredith and Andy Golding, Software Engineers, News Team, mentioned today.

At this time, the new feature is available only in the US version of Google News but the Mountain View company announced its intentions to launch it globally in the upcoming weeks. If you're one of the persons mentioned in the story, you can send a message to a special Google email to post your comment on the official page of Google News.

"Our long-term vision is that any participant will be able to send in their comments, and we'll show them next to the articles about the story. Comments will be published in full, without any edits, but marked as "comments" so readers know it's the individual's perspective, rather than part of a journalist's report," the Google employees added.

Google News is quite updated in the recent time because the search giant wants to make the product even more popular than the current rating. "From bloggers to mainstream journalists, the journalists who help create the news we read every day occupy a critical place in the information age. But we're hoping that by adding this feature, we can help enhance the news experience for readers, testing the hypothesis that -- whether they're penguin researchers or presidential candidates-- a personal view can sometimes add a whole new dimension to the story."
