SquareTrade, a company that sells warranties, has announced a new program that includes a TechForward Guaranteed Buyback plan with a SquareTrade iPhone or iPad warranty, at no additional cost to the customer.

Described as the best alternative to “overpriced iPhone Insurance,” SquareTrade's iPhone Warranty protects against drops, spills, and other common accidents, as well as normal mechanical and electrical failures for 24 months.

[admark=1]For its part, TechForward allows users to buy electronics with confidence, knowing that they will get cash back for their devices should they decide to upgrade to the latest model before 2 years, via their Guaranteed Buyback plan.

Specifically, users get a percentage of the unsubsidized price of the phone, before any carrier discounts, when they decide they want to upgrade to a new phone.

As such, customers get back changes depending on when they return their phone - from 50% for the first six months, to 40% for months 6-12, 30% for months 12-18, and so on.

SquareTrade is offering this 2 year Warranty plus Guaranteed Buyback plan on the iPhone for just $81, until February 14th, to celebrate the launch of the CDMA iPhone 4.

This is a 35% discount from SquareTrade's base retail price of $124.99.

"By bundling SquareTrade with TechForward, we are able to provide Verizon iPhone customers with a great way to hedge against the risk of both iPhone failure and early upgrade envy," said Steve Abernethy, CEO of SquareTrade.

"Users who want a Verizon iPhone now can do so, get a warranty, and know that they'll get some of their cash back should they decide to upgrade to the iPhone 5 before the year is over," Abernethy said.

"SquareTrade's initiative to give customers a Guaranteed Buyback plan along with their iPhone and iPad warranty shows how innovative they are as a warranty provider," said Jade Van Doren, CEO of TechForward.

"The combined product provides customers with a complete package that is unique in the market today," Doren added.
