With a sliding QWERTY keyboard

Finnish mobile phone Nokia has recently brought to the table in Singapore a new handset, the Nokia X5. Sporting a square form factor, the new device is quite different from the Nokia X5 device that was launched on the market in China back in April. The new mobile phone comes with a sliding QWERTY keyboard, and the company will probably tout its capabilities as being a nice option for messaging enthusiasts out there, as well as for those who live active social networking lives.

Details on the specifications list of the new Nokia X5 handset are scarce at the moment, though the latest reports on it suggest it should land on shelves with the Symbian S60 3rd edition operating system on board, which should go along pretty well with that four row slide-to-open QWERTY keyboard. At the same time, the phone is expected to be launched in various color versions, including Blue, Pink, and Green, as well as Black, though this version might arrive at a later date.

Other specifications of the new mobile phone will include a 5-megapixel photo snapper, tight integration with Facebook, MySpace and YouTube, or enhanced music capabilities, such as Comes With Music (though symbianworld says that this might vary according to the country). The phone is also said to come with a so called “Surprise Me” feature, which enables users change to random tracks in music listening when spinning the device.

In addition to these rumored specs for the Nokia X5, a series of hands-on photos are available too, along with some info on its price tag. The mobile phone looks quite thick, and Nokia is expected to release it on shelves with a price tag of around 160 Euros attached to it. Unfortunately, not specific details on the market availability of the new device emerged for the time being. Stay tuned to learn more on this phone's launch, as well as on its specifications.
