Capcom is announcing that it is preparing to release a game for the Nintendo Wii, using the digital distribution aspect of the platform.

The title will be called Spyborgs and is developed by Bionic Games, an outfit made up of veterans coming from Insomniac Games and High Impact Games, with the big attraction being the introduction of 2 player co operative play.

The plot of the game is centered on a group of super heroes that need to pursue an ex member who tried to kill them. The players can take charge of two of the three super heroes that are up for grabs and guide them as they follow the traitor. There are 35 stages offered in Spyborgs and each of them will follow the classic shoot em up pattern of huge numbers of enemies followed by an end level boss.

Spyborgs is set to take full advantage of the unique control scheme of the Nintendo Wii. The Wiimote will be used to shoot at enemies, slash with melee weapons and fight with bare hands as the two players take on hordes of enemies. Each of the characters that players can use has a set of unique skills and team cooperation is crucial to be able to progress through the videogame. One of the most interesting ideas is that some finishing moves, which are very powerful, can only be performed through close cooperation between the two players.

Capcom is saying that Spyborgs is set to push the graphical limit of the Nintendo Wii, making the experience both beautiful and engaging. Special attention will be paid to the character models, with the players’ moves being quite impressive. Capcom is also set to implement a system of Achievements in Spyborgs, even if WiiWare does not directly support them, as the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live do.
