The tablet PC runs under Google's Android 3.2 Honeycomb

Wireless carrier Sprint has made official a new tablet PC meant to offer a wide range of capabilities to its users at an affordable price tag, namely the ZTE Optik.

The new device was unveiled with a 7-inch touchscreen display and with Google’s Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system on board, while featuring a price tag of only $99.99 with the signing of a contract agreement.

The new device will become available for purchase on Sprint’s airwaves as soon as February 5th, and will be released through Sprint direct ship sales channels, including Sprint Stores, Sprint Business Sales, Telesales, and online.

The new device is capable of delivering a WXGA 1280×800 resolution to its users, along with support for the wireless carrier’s 3G network.

Moreover, the ZTE Optik tablet comes with dual cameras, namely a 5-megapixel camera on the back with video recording capabilities, and a front camera for video calling.

The specs list of the new device shows a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon application processor, complemented by 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It sports a 4000 mAh Lithium-ion battery inside, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g) and GPS capabilities.

The tablet PC offers support for Adobe Flash, and can be easily used as a dynamic e-reader, media player and portable computing device, Sprint notes.

The tablet also comes with support for Google mobile services such as Google Search, Gmail, Google Maps with Navigation, Google Books and YouTube. It also arrives with Sprint Zone, Sprint TV, Sprint Music Plus, Sprint Navigation, Sprint Football Live and NASCAR Sprint Cup Mobile.

At the same time, it offers users the possibility to download more applications via the Android Market. It will also keep them connected to social networking sites, to stay in touch with their friends at all times.
