Mobile phone carrier Sprint is expected to kick off its Direct Connect services on October 2nd, some of the latest reports on the matter suggest, and it seems that there will also be appealing devices for users to take advantage of.

Starting with October 2nd, Sprint's customers will enjoy a new way of experiencing push-to-talk, along with new mobile phones to support the feature, it seems.

One of them will be the Motorola Admiral that leaked into the wild a few days ago, and which has just made another appearance out in the open, in a preview video from Sprint.

The mobile phone is touted as a “professional grade” device, which also packs the ruggedness needed for field users. It is said to run under Android, and to include both a touchscreen display, as well as a QWERTY keyboard.

In addition to Motorola’s new mobile phone, Sprint Direct Connect users will also be able to purchase a new phone from Kyocera, supposedly called Duramax.

The handset has just leaked into the wild with an October 2nd release date, the very same date that the Sprint Direct Connect service is expected to kick off.

The same as the Motorola Admiral, the Kyocera Duramax is expected to be a rugged device, built so as to withstand dust, shock, vibration and extreme temperatures.

The mobile phone should arrive on the market with a price tag of $99.99 attached to it with the signing of a contract agreement.

The phone will be a clamshell, expected to pack a 3-megapixel photo snapper, along with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

The complete list of hardware specifications for the new Kyocera device is not available for the time being, but all of the necessary details on it should become available in the very near future, provided that the leak actually pans out.
