The new Android phone will become available next week

Mobile phone carrier Sprint has just announced the release of a new device in its HTC EVO family of devices, namely the HTC EVO Design 4G, which brings along support for global connectivity.

The new HTC EVO Design 4G brings along a nice range of capabilities that are familiar to the owners of HTC EVO devices.

The new handset is expected to become available for purchase starting with October 23rd and should feature a price tag of $99.99 (around 72 Euros) (excluding taxes) with the signing of a two-year contract agreement and after a $50 mail-in rebate via reward card.

The new mobile phone will be sold via all Sprint channels, including Sprint Stores, Web Sales (www.sprint.com) and Telesales (1-800-SPRINT1).

“Priced at under $100, HTC EVO Design 4G is the perfect device for consumers looking for both the benefits of 4G and the latest in device style,” said Fared Adib, Sprint vice president-Product Development.

“When matched with one of the Sprint Everything Data plans, our customers will unlock the value of unlimited without worrying about the cost or surprises on their monthly bill.”

The specifications list of the new device includes a 1.2GHz processor, along with 4-inch qHD capacitive touchscreen display, and a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with HD video recording capabilities.

The new smartphone also packs a 1.3MP front-facing camera for video chat, along with Wi-Fi b/g/n capabilities, Bluetooth and GPS receiver, and a microSD memory card slot for expanding the available storage space.

Other specs of the new device also include 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot capabilities, along with an aluminum unibody design, and the HTC Sense interface loaded on top of Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
