Mobile phone carrier Sprint has adjusted the price tag for one of the latest handsets released on its airwaves, the Sanyo Zio, making it available for purchase for free fro those customers interested in the signing of a new contract agreement.

The mobile phone's regular price tag is of $199.99 with a two-year contract, but Sprint has added it to the list of devices that are currently available for free on its offering.

A few weeks ago, Sprint announced a similar price cut for another Android-based device on its airwaves, the LG Optimus S, which was accompanied by handsets like LG Rumor Touch, Samsung Restore, LG Remarq, or the Sanyo Vero by Kyocera.

The list now includes the Palm Pixi handset as well, in addition to the aforementioned Sanyo Zio. According to the wireless carrier, the offer would end on December 25th, 2010.

In case there are some who might have not encountered the Sanyo Zio before, here are some of the main features of the device:

The current offer is available only for customers performing the purchase of this device via the wireless carrier's website. However, the deal includes free shipping and free activation, the company notes.

At the same time, Sprint states that the offer does not include taxes and service charges. “No cash back. Requires activation at the time of purchase,” the company continues.

To benefit from the deal, users would have to sign a new two-year contract agreement on an eligible plan, or to activate a new line under the same requirements.
