Sprint has just confirmed thatit will start taking pre-orders for HTC One on April 5 and that the smartphone will go on sale on April 19.

Customers will soon be able to pre-purchase the HTC One via Sprint for $200/€155 with a new two-year agreement (excludes taxes and surcharges).

Keep in mind that Sprint will only sell the 32GB model, in silver or black. The 64GB HTC One has been confirmed as AT&T exclusive, so if you’re not a subscriber of the Big Red or don’t plan to be one, then you won’t be able to get it.

HTC One will ship with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, integrated with the latest HTC Sense 5.0 UI.

According to HTC, the smartphone will receive an upgrade to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean platform sometime this year, but no exact release dates have been announced yet.

Sprint also confirms that HTC One “is equipped with eco-friendly attributes, including Underwriters Laboratory Environment Platinum Certification, the highest level of environmental performance recognized by sustainable requirements established by ULE and Sprint, and packaging that is 98% recyclable.”

Hardware-wise, HTC One is one of the most powerful Android smartphones soon to be available on the market.

It comes equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset that packs a quad-core APQ8064T processor clocked at 1.7GHz, as well as an Adreno 320 graphics processing unit.

The smartphone has 32GB of internal memory, but lacks microSD card slot for memory expansion. Another strong point of the HTC One is the hyper-vibrant 4.7-inch Super LCD3 capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating.

On the back, the phone boasts an impressive 4-UltraPixel photo snapper that features autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p@30fps) video recording. A secondary 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls is included as well.
