Sprint, the third largest mobile operator in the US, has just announced the availability of Sprint Web, a new home page set to improve the mobile Internet experience of its subscribers.

Sprint Web features quick Google search access, as now Google is the default search engine on Sprint's phones. Moreover, leveraging on a technology provided by ChangingWorlds, Sprint Web comes to offer relevant content in an easy way. Based on the Web pages previously visited, Sprint Web will provide you with the most relevant pages, each time you search for something.

Talking about the newly released Sprint Web, Kevin Packingham, senior vice president of product and technology development for Sprint, stated: "Sprint customers have always been able to access the Internet on data-capable Sprint phones, and with Sprint Web we've made it even easier for them to quickly find the information that they need. Sprint Web automatically learns what content the customer likes and puts it on their home page, along with Google search of the full Internet. This allows Sprint customers to get the most from the Internet on their phones even faster, when and where they want to, with the Now Network."

Sprint Web is now available on more than 40 handsets from Sprint, including: Motorola RAZR2, Palm Centro, Sanyo Katana DLX, LG Rumor and Samsung Upstage. In the next weeks, Sprint will try (and probably also succeed) to bring the new Web experience to all of its Internet-capable phones.

In order to get Sprint Web, customers who own compatible handsets don't have to download anything, as the new "service" is automatically installed - just click your handset's Web icon and Sprint Web will be activated.

Sprint Web is free for users who have an Everything plan and costs 3 cents per kb for users who don't have any data plan.
