Just in time to turn it into a great Christmas present

Sprint has just made its holiday lineup official, with little words on it, though. Motorola Q2 is one of the handsets that will be available from this carrier by the end of the year, most probably just in time to make the best of the holiday season shopping craze.

The most surprising feature on this release comes from the fact that this Motorola Q2 smartphone will be running Palm OS instead of Windows Mobile. The potential of combination is rather questionable, with little chances of being true and actually seeing the light of day. In fact, there are high chances for a Sprint staff error to lead to this confusion, although an official release for the phone should come in the near future and shed some light on these matters.

The Moto Q 9c should be the CDMA based version of the Moto Q 9h, which has been released in Europe earlier this year and will be available at AT&T as well. Both devices have been announced to pack Windows Mobile 6 Standard and the new piano style keyboard found on the Moto Q 9m, released on Verizon Wireless.

The smartphone proves to be a bold release coming from Motorola, with a full QWERTY keypad and an incredibly slim body of 11.9 mm. The device will also pack a 2.4 inch display that will make watching videos and file management easy and enjoyable. There is also a 1.3 megapixel camera included, with flash and 8x digital zoom, although the capture quality will remain below the average.

The phone has been announced to run Windows Mobile 6 and all chances show that this will be the standard OS for it and not Palm. A release for this device is expected to be announced in the near future, as the operator already set details on pricing. The Sprint site lists the Motorola Q2 for USD 150 after a USD 100 mail-in rebate and on a two-year contract with data plan.
