14 DAY TRIAL // Major carrier Sprint has just announced the upcoming availability of a new security solution aimed at families that want to protect their children through location checks and limits on various phone features.
The new security solution is called Sprint Guardian and bundles a range of mobile safety and security applications compatible with most Android devices available at Sprint.
Safely and Lookout are two important mobile software developers who have some of their apps bundled into Sprint Guardian security solution.
Sprint Guardian will be available for the carrier’s customers in the form of a service that can be purchased for $9.99 per month, for up to five lines on an account.
In addition, customers can protect their mobile devices from loss and malware for one single charge of $4.99 per month for up to five lines on an account, by using a dedicated device security bundle from Lookout.
There’s also the option to purchase both bundles for a single monthly fee of just $14.98. Sprint Guardian is not available, but the carrier promised it would launch the service this summer on many Android-powered devices through Sprint Zone.
It appears that three Safely apps will be included in Sprint Guardian bundle: Sprint Mobile Controls, Sprint Drive First and Sprint Family Locator.
Lookout will bring a new product into the mix, called Lookout Family. This will allow users to take advantage of the following features: Security, Missing Device and Management.
