The handset is getting closer to a release

With the 3G iPhone knocking on the gates of the global mobile market, Sprint is getting ready to roll-out the Samsung Instinct, a full-touchscreen phone described by Sprint to be a fierce competitor for Apple's handset. Actually, Sprint even says its Instinct is superior to the iPhone. Well, at least to the current version of the iPhone, because no one knows for sure what the 3G one will bring.

Anyway, regardless of the 3G iPhone, Sprint has released several new videos where it showcases the features of Samsung Instinct. Of course, most of its capabilities are already announced, as Sprint first unveiled the Instinct in April, during CTIA Wireless 2008, but it's a completely different thing to see how those capabilities actually work - that's why the new videos will probably be interesting to US users who are considering buying a Samsung Instinct (when it hits the market, of course).

Among the features that Sprint is showing off, we have Live Search, shooting and sending videos and a speech-to-action key that will allow users to control with ease lots of the functions of the phone. You can watch three YouTube clips with these capabilities at the end of the article.

For those who have forgotten (or never knew them), the specs of Samsung Instinct look like this: a 3.1 inch TFT display with 240 x 432 pixels and 262K colors, GPS, full HTML browser with Flash support, EV-DO Rev A. connectivity, a 2 Megapixel camera with video, Media player, Bluetooth 2.0, a 3.5mm audio jack, a pre-installed 2GB memory card and many other nice features. The handset weighs 4.5 ounces (127 grams) and measures 4.57 x 2.17 x 0.49 inches (116 x 55 x 12.4 mm).

Samsung Instinct is said to hit the US market on June 20, for a price that has not been announced yet. Until then, enjoy the new videos with the handset.
