The creators of The Sims return with a mind melting prospect

When the creators of The Sims announce that they are developing a new game it seems natural to be really curious. And when you hear that you will basically be able to re-write history since the beginning of the world to present times in a completely unique life sim, you get really excited. But all the problems will be solved during this fall, when Spore is scheduled for a release on the 7th of September for the PC, Mac, Nintendo DS and mobilephones.

"The wait is almost over," said Maxis Chief Designer Will Wright. "We're in our final stages of testing and polish with Spore, and the team at Maxis can't wait to see the cosmos of content created by the community later this year."

Spore is one of those games that promises to be brilliant and, if it will really manage to meet the expectations, it should be a huge hit. This game simply allows you to create your own universe: you will create and evolve life, starting as a microbe and evolving to... whatever you want! You will establish tribes, build civilizations and many more using the creative tools offered by the developers to customize everything: your universe, vehicles, creatures or even UFOs. Finally, you will be able to explore infinite amounts of galaxies, all of them created by other players.

The only thing we know nothing about is if the game will be designed in such a way that newer and maybe not so hardcore players will appreciate it or it will be aimed towards a core of dedicated players that are willing to spend nights and days searching and discovering all the possibilities of the game. If it will be a more casual kind of game meant to be a fun time waster, it could not live long. But one thing is sure: I can hardly wait to give this game a try in September!
