14 DAY TRIAL // This was a story that many fans have been dying to see explored, if only for the heck of it, but, by the looks of things, it’s dead in the water. The romance between House and Cuddy on “House M.D.” seems to have breathed its last.
As fans of the show who have seen the latest episode must already know, the doctor we all love to hate (to one extent or another) is now a married man and, no, it’s not to Cuddy, the woman he’s been wooing in his particular way for years.
Mrs. House is younger and, as it happens, from another country. Played by Karolina Wydra, she got House to marry her so that she could get her green card.
Still, that’s not to say that the marriage won’t last. Michael Ausiello of TV Line claims to have it on very good authority that this is actually a subplot producers aim to keep for the season finale.
If so, this would understandably make things even more interesting for the upcoming episode. At the same time, though, it would also mean that House and Cuddy are over for good – or at least for now.
Ausiello has learned that Shohreh Aghdashloo of the now defunct “24” has been attached to appear on the season 7 finale of “House.”
“If my hunch is right, House fans are gonna love this news, and Huddy fans are gonna hate it: Shohreh Aghdashloo has just signed on to appear in the Fox hit’s season finale,” Ausiello says.
Since there’s some resemblance between Shohreh and Karolina, the same Ausiello, well known for the accurate television scoop he provides on the hottest shows, believes that the former may play the latter’s mother – that is, House’s mother-in-law.
“Like I said, Huddy fans might not be so excited if I’m correct in guessing that she’ll be playing Doc Crankypants’ new mother-in-law, which would translate to his recent green-card marriage having legs,” Ausiello argues.
“It’s entirely possible Aghdashloo is just the patient of the week. But you have admit, Aghdashloo bears a strong resemblance to the new Mrs. House, actress Karolina Wydra,” he adds.
Another indication that the first option is the most likely is to be found in the title of the episode, “Moving On,” which can be seen as an indication that Huddy, the couple fans wanted to see come to life onscreen, is officially over.
