Solution against wasting money on nothing

For those having a hard time with keeping money in their pockets and not blowing away the entire salary in just a few days, a mobile application called Spendometer comes to the rescue. Moneybasics will make this software available for download starting with the end of this month.

The Spendometer takes care of the daily budget for those that can't handle it themselves. Users enter their target maximum weekly spend, which can be split into several categories such as lunch, clothes and transport. From this point on, the Spendometer's task is that of prompting the user when he goes over the limit for each category and prevent any further expenses.

The application proves to be pretty complex, as the user must also enter his "spending speed". This means that he must estimate how much he looks to spend and keep track of how the money has been laid out over a certain period of time. Moreover, the software also includes a "going out" function that looks to help the users limit their overspending on a night out.

Moneybasics looks to make money management easy with the help of mobile phones, as these devices prove to be closest to their users. They are at all times with them and this means that they can best keep track of their actions. Moreover, people have gotten used to relying on mobile phones to organize their lives, which makes this new software a non-intrusive one. "By making money management easy with mobile phones, we hope to help millions to keep better control of their money", said Malcolm Hurlston, chairman of the charity Credit Action.

The Spendometer will be available for a free download from www.moneybasics.co.uk, starting with the end of this November. The greatest feature about this application is that it comes for free, which means no extra spending.
