Spencer Pratt and his not-so-blushing wife Heidi Montag, both of whom have achieved fame thanks to “The Hills,” but have succeeded in keeping themselves in the spotlight thanks to countless photo-ops, are not what one may call modest. With this in mind, Pratt’s announcement that he intends to legally change his name to include King in it shouldn’t probably come as too big a surprise.

Apparently, Pratt, budding rapper, his wife’s around-the-clock PR person and overall soon to be extremely accomplished entrepreneur, is aware of the existence and perhaps the respect too that royals get in the UK. A King of America does not exist yet (that we know of), even if there is a King of Pop and a King of Media. Therefore, the title should – must, according to the star himself – go to Pratt, which is why a legal change in name is to be expected soon.

“I’ve decided since there is a Queen of England and a Prince William that there should be a king of America. I nominate myself for that role.” Pratt tells Us Weekly of his decision to legally change his name to King Spencer Pratt. Of course, wife Montag doesn’t need to go down the same route, since, by being married to a King, she automatically becomes a Queen, as logic would dictate. She too is aware of her stepping up in rank by association, as she reveals for Star magazine, “If I am married to the king, doesn’t that automatically make me a queen?”

As everyone who is even remotely up-to-date with celebrity happenings must know, this is not really the first time that Pratt and Montag make this type of asinine comments to the media. Shortly after Heidi’s disastrous performance for the Miss Universe pageant, where she lip-synched less than two minutes of her new single, “Body Language,” Pratt was saying how, now that Michael Jackson was dead, Heidi could become this generation’s biggest superstar. Whether he was aware that it also took talent to get to be called that has not yet been determined.

“Heidi is the new, modern day, 2010 Michael Jackson. Yeah, but here it is, it’s living, like the holy spirit. Like, Michael Jackson’s in heaven. The Holy Spirit now has Michael Jackson juice, so boom! For all we know, Heidi gets possessed with Michael Jackson’s divine spirit.” Pratt said a while back.
