Updating key Speed Download components and adding “tons of Snow Leopard specific tweaks,” Speed Download 5.2.6 is available as a free download for all existing users and can be acquired immediately via Softpedia.

A new, fully featured, built-in FTP client has been added in the first stable release of Speed Download 5. It uses encrypted file sharing between SD5 users.
Using the links below, both the full and the trial versions of Speed Download 5.2.6 and Speed Download Lite 1.1.7 are available. Trial-mode restrictions include a shareware reminder screen and limited, simultaneous downloads. Speed Download requires any Internet connection and a Mac OS X-compatible Internet browser. The Universal Binary program is compatible with Intel and PowerPC processors. Mac OS X 10.4.11 (the latest available version of Tiger) is still supported.
