T-Mobile and HTC are reported to be ready to uncover the successor to the middling phone T-Mobile Shadow. This Windows Mobile handset hasn't seen a great adoption rate on the market, yet it comes with a slim form factor, a SureType keyboard, as well as a relatively long feature list. Its successor, Shadow 2009, has been spotted quite a while ago, and some specifications were leaked, photos were unveiled and pieces of information surfaced now and then over the past year.

This time it seems that the two companies are getting ready to officially announce the handset, especially given the fact that the photo we see now presents the device in both red and white. The phone is expected to hit the shelves sometime around January 28th, but there is no information regarding the actual price of the device.

Since there is no 3G support present, the handset is still considered to be a mid-range one; yet, it does feature Wi-Fi connectivity, including @Home (Hotspot Enabled). In addition, Shadow 2009 should also come with Bluetooth 2.0, Stereo Bluetooth and quad-band frequency support, and, among its multimedia capabilities we could mention a music and video multimedia player.

Other specifications include a large, vibrant 2.6″ screen with reflective surface, 20-key slide-out keyboard with spin wheel navigation, myFaves 1.5 W, EDGE/GPRS, ork and personal e-mail, T-Mobile address book, audio postcard, Mp3 Hi-Fi ringers, t-zones/ web2go, as well as picture and text messaging. The T-Mobile Shadow 2009 comes with Windows Mobile 6.1 and includes Mobile Office and OneNote, along with HTML Web browsing.

The list continues with a Mini USB SD expandable memory slot with support for up to 4GB. According to the specs, the battery of the handset features large capacity, although there is no specific information on the talk or standby time it can offer.
