Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless is gearing up for the release of new devices that would connect to its 4G LTE network, others than the newly unveiled Apple iPad model. One of these devices is said to be the LG Lucid 4G, a smartphone that was previously spotted online under the name of LG Cayman.

The new handset is expected to make an official appearance at Verizon in the next few weeks, and should be an upper-mid-range device.

Today, we can learn some more info on what the device can offer to its users, courtesy of a leaked specs list, accompanied by some leaked photos of the device. Take this with a grain of salt for the time being.

When made available on Verizon’s network, the new device will sport a dual-core 1.2GHz application processor, leaked info that emerged over at Android Central unveils.

Moreover, the new handset is said to be on its way to the market with a 4-inch NOVA display (not IPS, like the Spectrum), which can deliver a WVGA resolution and 700 nits of brightness.

The upcoming mobile phone is also said to pack a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for full HD video recording. A front-facing VGA camera for video calling will also be there.

Moreover, it should include 16GB of internal memory, along with 1GB of RAM. It should run under Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system when released.

For the time being, nothing has been officially confirmed on this device, or on its upcoming availability on Big Red’s 4G LTE network.

However, some of the latest rumors suggest that the phone will become available for purchase before the end of this month. Leaked info on the matter suggests that Verizon could add it to its offering as soon as March 29th and that it would have it priced under $200.
