Sparkle, one of NVIDIA's board partners, announced yesterday the Calibre Fly Cooling System, an innovative cooling solution for some of the latest graphics cards released. The new product has been designed to be compatible with both NVIDIA and ATI-based graphics cards so, quite obviously, it should provide an alternative cooling solution to a significant number of users.

Sparkle has a very interesting way of branding its products, being able to offer a wide range of solutions for both mid-range and high-end consumers. The Sparkle-branded cards are meant to provide users with basic implementations of NVIDIA's graphics processors, whereas the Calibre-branded ones are targeted at high-end gamers and computer enthusiasts. This should give you a general idea of what the Calibre Fly Cooling System has been designed for.

According to the official announcement, the new product is the work of the company's R&D teams, and is meant to meet the requirements of most mainstream and high-end graphics cards currently available on the market. The VDT2000 is essentially a dual-fan cooling system, which looks similar to Thermaltake's DuOrb VGA. It boasts two 3000 RPM silent fans, pure copper pipes, 0.2mm copper fins, and a thermal base with copper core.

Because of the dual-fan design, the Calibre Dual Fly Cooling System can be adjusted so it provides a maximum airflow for both the graphics card and the motherboard. According to Sparkle, this solution can improve the GPU, video memory and MOS working temperatures by up to 13, 4 and 10 degrees Celsius, respectively. At the same time, the Dual Fly Cooling System has a working noise of only 30db, compared with the 34db on some reference cooling solutions.

Unfortunately, the company has not made public any details regarding pricing and availability, but it's highly probable that we see this cooling solution on one of the company's high-end Calibre-branded graphics cards. Keep an eye on this space for more.
