Renewable power is a hot topic these days and what better device for a environment conscious watch geek than a self powered digital watch that comes with its own built-in micro generator.

While mechanical watches powered by the movement of your arms are nothing new this is the first time we get to see this type of technology being employed in a digital watch.

The Sparc MGS comes with dual sapphire crystal screens, one covering the watch itself while the other allows users to take a look at the little micro-generator that keeps things powered for up to 45 days.

And we are not talking here about one of those basic digital watches either, as the Sparc MGS features LED backlight, dual time zones, alarms, and a perpetual calendar, all powered by a special OS according to Slash Gear.

All of these features however come at a price, and the limited edition black Sparc MGS pictured above retails for an impressive $5,500 (3,968 Euros). There's also a non-LE silver edition, but you won't end up saving to much as it still takes $5,250 (3,788 Euro) out of your pocket.
