SpamSieve gets better with new update

SpamSieve is a software used by Mac e-mail clients to protect their inboxes from spam. It is based on Bayesian methods of filtering and it requires Mac OS X 10.2.8 or later to function. It works with Apple Mail, Emailer, Gyaz Mail, Mailsmith, Outlook Express 5, PowerMail, Thunderbird as well as with a few other e-mail applications. A new update is now available and it's free of cost, assuming that you already have the original software.

I guess all of you have read a lot of spam related news lately (and spam news as well), I know I sure did, so I think that SpamSieve getting an update and bringing users a whole new lot of features is one of the best things yet.

I've taken a look at C-command's official website, in order to see what the new version (2.6.4) of SpamSieve actually does. The first thing that came to my attention was the fact that this software is more accurate than other programs that use Bayesian filters. It's really good for e-mail clients and does the same filtering for all of them, now matter how many you use.

One of the features I liked most is the fact that it keeps a blocklist and a whitelist (both customizable) that can adapt to spam sent from particular addresses and filter it correctly. I really enjoy this feature, since more than once a friend sent me lots of messages and part of them were cataloged as being spam. Another good thing about it is the fact that it enables the new-mail notification feature of e-mail clients only when the new message is non-spam, so it filters the messages and you don't even have to bother taking care of anything.

There are many more new features as well that make this program really great for spam filtering. You can check out the rest of them right here.
