RealNetworks Inc. is now offering South Park Imaginationland for iPhone and iPod touch at a special price. The game now costs $2.99, and is available from the iTunes App Store for devices running firmware 2.0 or newer.

“To celebrate the new season and the Imaginationland Emmy award win,” RealNetworks Inc. advises iTunes App Store visitors to “get the game now for a low promotional price! Available for a limited time only.”

On the iTunes App Store, South Park Imaginationland is described as follows:

Based on the Emmy(r) winning South Park Imaginationland movie, the epic battle for good and evil continues on your iPhone or iPod Touch! You must help Butters save mankind’s imagination from a horrible fate! Take on this challenge by using Butter’s Bouncing skills in 3 arenas and over 60 mind-blowing levels. Collect items to accomplish missions inside a time limit and enjoy the amazing gameplay and humor. No imagination needed to enjoy this jaw-dropping new South Park game!

The mechanics of the game involves solving individual levels, which increase in difficulty as the player progresses. At the start of each level, the main character is launched into the air. The player accumulates “imagination powder” each time the character bounces against a wall or the ground. Powder lets players propel their character into the air with a swipe of the finger. The goal is to pick up a given number of items and touch something like a finish line.

TouchArcade, that “enjoyed this physics puzzler” noting it was “one of the more underrated iPhone games,” says that South Park Imaginationland is “certainly worth the $2.99 'limited time' promotional price.”

Also worth mentioning is that iPhone and iPod touch owners will be getting more South Park goodness later on this year, as a “killer” South Park iPhone application is being cooked up by co-creator Matt Stone and the South Park digital team. According to those who've seen the app running on an actual iPhone, it will have the ability to stream clips, grab wallpapers, read news, and browse a complete episode index.
